After viewing the video Monarch’s Stephen Keiley about being homelessness I am so amazed about what he elaborated on homelessness “no matter what they go through, as long as they can really focus here at school, they can do anything” (Mth,2011).. That is so true I have seen many students in head start who comes from families that are having hard times with having a stable home but the children seem to be happy and do well in school. Thousands of families are faced with difficult time with struggling budgets. “Over the last decade, the number of homeless students in the more than tripled from 7,000 to some 23,000 .” He makes a very important statement that children can do whatever they put their minds to do they can surely accomplished it if they are focus. Being a head start teacher we have endured many situations I can remember several years ago we had a little girl who was being raised by her father and they were living out of their car. When we realize what was happening we addressed the father and we contacted our family service worker who was able to put them into a hotel temporarily until there were resources available to get public housing.
