Is it a good idea for high-school graduates to take a year off before going to college? Why or why not? As the end of college approaches, high school seniors have thoughts of college and graduating in mind. Students now begin asking themselves whether they should go straight to college or not, or secure a job immediately, or if they are going to stay at home for a while to break from learning. In the contemporary world, it is common for students to take a year off between high school and college; however, it can lead to them not attending college at all. Some students start getting jobs sooner to have some income, but going to college would be the better option because they could get earn more with a higher education. It is imperative to further education after high school since most high paying jobs require someone with a college education. Therefore, it is not a good idea for high-school graduates to take a year off before going to college. Most of them are not focused enough and ready to make their year off worthwhile. Many will possibly not even have a proper plan for their year off, ultimately leading to wasting their year and slim chance of entering a top level college. Going straight to college
