Jacob Johnson October 6, 2015 Professor Melzow English 1301                                                        Experience of A Girl Gamer               In the world of gaming, it is seldom that a person encounters a female that plays first  person shooter video games. In Carmen Tieu’s essay, “Why Violent Video Games Are Good For Girls”, she argues that violent video games give women many benefits such as feeling more  confident and outspoken than ever before. Along with this, she explains in detail how the other  male gamers actions and harsh words go beyond just games, but she also states that all men are  sexist, homophobic, and stereotypical. The author appeals to pathos were the stronger, more  passionate assets of her essay and displayed her true feelings towards male gamers torment their  fellow girl gamers. However, where the author fell short of a strong argument was her rhetorical  appeals to those of ethos and logos. The overall argument of the essay is invalid, because  majority of the authors essay appeal, to credibility and logic, were poorly explained and loosely  defined.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

I cannot even describe how much Course Hero helped me this summer. It’s truly become something I can always rely on and help me. In the end, I was not only able to survive summer classes, but I was able to thrive thanks to Course Hero.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
