SYRIAN POLITICAL INSTITUTIONS 2 Syrian Political Institution Humanity has come a long way in establishing civilization and promoting peaceful coexistence despite the fierce competition for resources. One of the most significant steps has been the establishment of institutions which act as custodians of the rules that societies use to govern themselves. These systems are engineered to meet precise specifications and primarily focus on what individuals want to maximize. Typically, these institutions strive to translate the theoretical social science aspect of society to practical designs which can be identified and recognized. In Syrian politics, political systems are charged with a mandate to create, implement and enforce laws. Like in most other countries, they sometimes mediate conflicting parties, formulate policies and also act as representatives of the majority. In addition to political parties which are the most prominent, law courts and trade unions can also be grouped as governmental institutions. The political establishment can also be a recognized network of rules or principles upon which institutions like law courts operate and may include concepts such as rights to vote. Political systems involve the law, culture, economy and some other social aspects. The most common forms of governments include democracies, communism, monarchical and finally dictatorship. The primary role of these institutions is the protection of the integrity of the political structure of a state. The paper will seek to identify the most prominent political institutions in Syria and problems facing them that have resulted in their failure. Besides, it will also present suggestions that could help curb the issues facing these organizations. These will include ways to enhance accountability in the systems paying close attention to Syria’s electoral, executive or federal programs that might require revamping. Finally, using a Substitution, Combinative, Adaptive, Modification, Put to other use, Eliminate and Reverse (SCAMPER) model it will make suggestions on how to develop a more satisfactory program.

SYRIAN POLITICAL INSTITUTIONS 3 Current Political State In Syria Syria is a semi-presidential republic, and the citizens are represented by several parties and headed by both a president and a prime minister. Despite being a unitary state, most of the political power is in the hands of one family who practice a highly authoritarian regime. In the last few years, however, the country has been experiencing what has been termed to as the Syrian Uprising which is a civil war for the outcry of freedom. The current president of Syria, Bashar Al-Assad has been in power since 2000 after his father who had been in power for thirty years.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
