Pre-Columbian Civilizations Mayan Aztec Inca Government The Mayans developed a hierarchical government ruled by kings and priests The Aztec government was similar to a monarchy where an Emperor or King was the primary ruler. The Inca government was called the Tawantinsuyu. It was a monarchy ruled by a single leader called the Sapa Inca Economics Economy is a system which consists of the production and distribution of goods and services by multiple agents within a society and/or geographical area The Aztecs traded everything, and it was an important part of their life, and their economy relied heavily on agriculture and farming. The Inca economy was not based on a money system, and it did not have commerce or free trade. Social Structure and Life The Maya didn't have a middle class, so merchants and craftsmen were either nobles or peasants creating art or running a business. The Aztecs followed a strict
