Every boy wanted to go the ballpark and see the legends of baseball such as Lou Gehrig, Ted Williams, and the great Babe Ruth. These men and many others gave millions of children across the country something to strive for. People still love baseball today still, but they most do not see it as the best sport in the nation. Now people are more into the fast paced and hard hitting game of football. Most people think baseball is too boring and too slow. That it’s not as exciting as football, but now, with the recent concussion issues that the sport has been having issues with and the huge boost in offense in the sport of baseball. Baseball has also seen a huge spike this year in attendance at baseball games. It could be because of the previous lovable losers becomingworld champions or maybe because of the giants of the game, Giancarlo Stanton and Aaron Judge, with their phenomenal home run balls. It is surely making its way back to the top.Historically, baseball has been around longer than football. It has been played for over 173 years. No one truly knows who invented the sport. There is an old myth that a Mr. Abner Doubleday invented the game in the summer of 1839 in Cooperstown, New York, but it has been stated that it’s a false theory.
