{slide 2} One of the advantages of taking on-line courses is that if you find yourself daydreaming during  lecture, you can always go back and listen to the part of the lecture that you missed. When I was  in college I often visualized myself in the upcoming swimming meet or visualized whoever I was in love with at the time. These are forms of mental imagery. {slide 3} Specifically, these are forms of visual imagery, which is the experience of a visual impression in  the absence of visual input.  Visual imagery is not a passive process, as you will recall from Shepard and Metzler’s metal  rotation experiment. Visual imagery serves an adaptive purpose. It allows one to plan for the  future. It also allows one to try things out to see if they’ll work before actually attempting to do  something important. In short, visual imagery may be one thing that sets humans apart from  other higher-level cognitive animals.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

I cannot even describe how much Course Hero helped me this summer. It’s truly become something I can always rely on and help me. In the end, I was not only able to survive summer classes, but I was able to thrive thanks to Course Hero.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
