In module #11, Nevada’s center began to shift to the south as World War II-related projects –  particularly the Army Gunnery School (now Nellis Air Force Base) and Basic Magnesium brought  thousands of people through Las Vegas, many of whom spent leisure time in Las Vegas and  returned as tourists throughout their lives. In addition, businessmen interested in casino gambling  discovered that Las Vegas could attract gambling tourists, too, and they made a decision to build  outside of town on the highway to Los Angeles that was a major turning point. While the Reno City  Council confined gambling business within a twelve-block downtown area within the so-called “Red  Line,” Las Vegas casinos had ample land outside the city to build a new enterprise – the casino  resort. These resorts would prove to be immensely popular and the Las Vegas tourism business  began to catch up to Reno during this era.    In       Nevada: A History of the Silver State

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

I cannot even describe how much Course Hero helped me this summer. It’s truly become something I can always rely on and help me. In the end, I was not only able to survive summer classes, but I was able to thrive thanks to Course Hero.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
