In module #12, we see a major shift as Nevada’s history begins to shift to Southern Nevada. The  rise of the southern part of the state was driven by two main developments: the expansion and  success of the casino resorts on the Las Vegas Strip (outside of the Las Vegas city limits) and the  expansion of U.S. military operations north of Las Vegas (Nellis Air Force Base and the Nevada  Atomic Test Site). While Reno trudged amiably along, Las Vegas seized upon the emerging desire  for big name entertainment in a sunny resort location as well as the federal government’s willingness to spare no expense in the fighting of the Cold War. By 1960, the population of Las Vegas had  surpassed Reno’s population for the first time.      In       Nevada: A History of the Silver State     , Chapter 12  From what did the Flamingo casino “liberate” Las Vegas?

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

I cannot even describe how much Course Hero helped me this summer. It’s truly become something I can always rely on and help me. In the end, I was not only able to survive summer classes, but I was able to thrive thanks to Course Hero.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
