Libertarianism is the idea that humans have free will, we are not determined, and that we have the capacity to be morally responsible for our actions. While determinists would argue that everyone’s entire life is predetermined by our genetics and environmental influences, the libertarianist would claim that humans, may be influenced by these external factors, but ultimately make decisions for ourselves. Libertarianists believe that our actions our often spontaneous and are not the product of antecedent causes.
