4/4/2016 Song Response Paper 10 For response 10, I picked “Loser” by Beck. I am a huge fan of Beck and his unique style. He always picks very interesting sounds and instruments to mix, and his songs really have this indescribable quality to them where even on the first listen, his sound choices just go together so well. Right from the intro, the guitar on the side is a sequence of notes that I honestly don't recognize from anything, but still goes along perfectly musically. The verses he drops right after seem to make sense in the beginning, but quickly go haywire and I soon found myself unable to grasp what he was talking about. Knowing Beck, those verses probably talked about something meaningful, just spun in his vision, but I'll have to listen many more times (or cheat and look it up shh) to figure out what the beginning is about. I love when the verse starts though, the guitar not only switches ears, but also changes to a sitar. The chorus helps to unveil a bit more meaning. He seems to be talking to his girlfriend, or someone comfortable being called baby.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
