HS 162 2/28/18 For our health innovation, we plan to create a house system that will specifically target individuals with disabilities. The house system will include a voice detecting software that can be used all around the house. The voice software will include voice recognition that will be set up specifically for individuals with disabilities. This way it is certain that the software will be used by people that need it. The voice software will control various parts of the house such as controlling the lights, water, AC, Heater, and the house phone. Controlling the lights will help individuals that have trouble walking or are in a wheelchair. This way they could voice their command to the house system instead of having to physically turn the light off. Controlling the water flow will also help individuals that struggle to take showers or baths. Controlling the AC and heater are also important since many people that have disabilities are also elders. As we age, the cold weather affects us more so the voice detecting software would allow them to turn on the heater while in bed. Lastly, the house system will control the house phone. This is very beneficial since 911 will be included as an emergency contact along with emergency contacts the individual chooses.
