PSO Strike Music has been an important part of human culture as far back as we can trace. People have looked to music to be a break from reality, time to relax, and for some a way of life. However in today’s current environment it comes down to the money like most things do. Orchestras today are run like a business with revenues that need to be hit along with employees that need to be paid their fair share. Currently the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra is not playing their famous music inside Heinz Hall due to the issue I presented before, it all comes back to the money. The musicians that make up the PSO had their contract s expire on September 5 th of the current year without signing a new deal with their management. Knowing that the Gala Performance was in the near future on September 17 th the musicians agreed to work without a contract until the 18 th so that show could continue. On the morning of September 18 th the musicians formed a picket line in front of Heinz Hall marking the start of their strike.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
