Career Services Overview Transcript Slide 1 Hello students, and welcome to Career Services Overview presentation. Slide 2 Let’s start off with sharing a little more about Career Services and how we can assist you. We definitely want you to take every opportunity to succeed, and be aware of how our team can help you reach your goals. First, you have access to the Career Network 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The Career Network can be found right on your KUCampus homepage, and has wonderful self-service tools! We will talk more about the Career Network in just a moment. Your Career Specialist can help you with your Resume and Cover Letter, help you prepare for any interviews you may have scheduled by conducting a Mock Interview with you, and also provide industry-specific networking tips that may help you increase your interview opportunities. We can also review your social media profiles to ensure they are HELPING and not HINDERING your job search. Finally, Career Services does host career events and employer spotlight sessions throughout the course of the year, as well as distribute job leads and provide job search support, so be sure to connect with your specific Career Specialist so we know how best we can support you! Slide 3 So, let’s start off with talking about what most of you may be most interested in discussing – So, let’s talk about what many of you might be eager to discuss – career options within the field of ABA. There are many ways to use the emphasis you have been studying in Applied Behavior Analysis. For example, you may be able to find opportunities as a Residential Associate, Mental Health Technician, Behavior Technician, Residential Counselor, Behavior Youth Counselor, Direct Care Professional and Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst. And for those of you planning to pursue your BCBA, please visit for more information on the credentialing process. Also, you may want to explore professional organizations such as the Association for Behavior Analysis International, the Association for Behavior and Cognitive Therapists, and the Association of Professional Behavior Analysts. Kaplan University also has the KU ABA Student Website that we encourage you to explore as well! Slide 4 For students exploring the Addictions emphasis area, you may find opportunities as an Outreach Specialist, Prevention Specialist, Substance Abuse Counselor, Clinical Assessor, Teen Drug Counselor, Case Manager, Residential Treatment Specialist and Recovery Life Coach. Also, you may want to explore professional organizations such The Association for Addiction Professionals (NAADAC), American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM), Substance Abuse Program Administrators Association (SAPPA) and State Association of Addiction Services (SAAS) and other resources like Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA).
