BBDM2153 Operations ManagementExecutive SummaryOur project is to study the layout of an organization and project management. Thefirst part of the project is mainly focused on the study the layout of an organization. Based onthe current layout, a brief description of the current layout is formed after visiting the selectedshop. Besides, we formed some discussions about the strengths and weaknesses of the layoutby relating them to the six aspects which are utilisation of space for equipment and people,signages, flow of information and material, safe working conditions, customer interactionsand servicescapes. Some photos will be attached in the discussion to give a clearer picture topurport the exact condition of the shop. A floor plan of the shop will be drawn and attached inthe appendix as well. Other than providing the brief explanation on the current layout and discussions aboutthe strengths and weaknesses for the current layout, we also formed the new layout which isthe advanced version of the current layout. The new layout is specifically enhanced thestrengths and minimize the weaknesses of the current layout with the fulfilment of the sixaspects which are stated above. Apart from that, we also provided the reasons of creatingsuch layout in our recommendation.The second part of the project is focused on the project management. Projectmanagement is important for an organization. This is because without a proper projectmanagement, an organization probably will incur additional cost and longer time to besucceeded. We used critical path method network drawing with Activity-on-Node (AON)approach to schedule our project so that the project can be run smoothly and it can be done ontime. We also identified the activities to be conducted throughout the project and slack timeas well as the critical path. In conclusion, we performed the observation on the current layout of an organization,creation of new layout which is the enhancement of the current layout of an organization andalso scheduling our project by applying critical path method with the AON approach and alsoidentified the activities with slack time and activities involved in the critical path.
