DBQ 1990 During the American Democratic Revolution in the 1820s and 1830s, a growth in a second party system led to a change in the politics of the United States. This revolution came about with the election of Andrew Jackson. Unlike most of the previous presidents, Jackson did not support aristocrats, instead he represented the command men, farmers and urban workers. Jackson and his followers, Jacksonian Democrats, viewed themselves as the guardians of the United States Constitution, political democracy, individual liberty, and equality of economic opportunity. The actions of Andrew Jackson fairly contradicted his claim that he stood for the common man as he failed to protect individual liberties and economic freedoms of American citizens by supporting only a specific sector of the American population, limiting financial policies, and suppressing state’s rights. Andrew Jackson was elected in 1828 over John Q. Adams who was deemed more intellectual and superior. Representing the working class, George Henry Evans paraphrases the Declaration of Independence in the Working Men’s Declaration of Independence to bring to light that the working class has unalienable rights that should be protected like any other class(A).

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
