Career Idea ______Sports Marketing________ Work Description: What are the primary work tasks? What is a typical day like? Promoting sporting events, teams, and players, as well as services and products that are connected to those teams. Direct marketing, product placement, advertising and branding, and publicity. Work Hours: What are the typical work hours? Can you bring work home? You technically can bring work home, you can always be thinking of ideas to be used in work and ways to improve in your career. Typical work hours vary depending on the sports season, depending on a team a sports marketer is working for, depending if it is a day of a game, etc. A typical week consists of 45-55 hours, some weeks occasionally 60-70 hours. Training: What education is required? What major(s) are appropriate? A degree is recommended specifically in sports marketing rather than just marketing. Skills: What skills are required to do the job well?
