Icing Accident: Opine to the major issue in the Roselawn, IN. (NTSB AAR-9601) icing accident. Was it the unique ice, crew issue, or an aircraft design flaw? In this case, references are not required.One of the main issues that led to the accident/crash of the American Eagle Flight 4184 in Roselawn IN was intense icing. The aircraft flew into severe icing conditions that it could not handle. The ice accumulated around the aileron hinges, which then caused the aircraft to stall.The airplane design definitely had a flaw followed by the aircraft manufacturer agree with this and earlier proposed to alter the design of the aileron hinges.
