Notes – EE 306 What I need to know for the final Chapter 1 What is the computer Turing machine – A britt Chapter 2 Use of binary in the computer and why (Know and be able to explain) Data Types (Don’t forget that in these programs that you can load data from a program) (Ex a number in a memory location can be a instruction, address, ASCII code, number) Unsigned/signed intergers (don’t forge that floating data point wont be covered) Binary to decimal/Decimal to Binary Conversion 2’s Compliment Different number bases (Know how to convert stuff like: 19 in base 10 to [ ?] in base 7) Binary arithmetic – Addition and Subtraction (Helped us build a full adder) (essetial to know binary artimetic) Sign Extension Logical Functions (Not, XOR, AND, e.t.c.) Boolean Algebra – A Britt ASCII Hexidecimal Chapter 3 The transistor Know the differnence between the open or closed Know how to construct circuits for AND, OR, NOT, XOR, NAND, NOR, etc +Won’t ask you to develop a transistor from stratch
