The concentration of an unknown solution was determined by using Beer'sLaw. This solutions concentration was determined to be 0.007 M. Introduction In this experiment, the behavior of electrons within molecules and ions are analysed using absorbance spectroscopy. The purpose of this experiment is to learn about Beer’s Law, Spectroscopy, and the of photons with molecules and ions in solutions. This procedure specifically analyses the absorbance spectrum of cupric ions in an aqueous environment within the visible region of the electromagnetic spectrum. Experimental Data First, a calculation was performed to determine the exact amount of CuSO4∙5H2Oneeded fora 50 ml, 0.1 M aqueous solution. The determined amount was 1.2483g of CuSO4∙5H2O.
