RTM 305 Portfolio Project/Aztec Adventure Project/Extra Credit (Follow These Directions Carefully to Gain Maximum Points) The Portfolio/Aztec Adventure Project is intended to encourage your reflection on course topics in personally meaningful ways. Your responses should be within the page length guidelines provided for each assignment and no longer than that. I encourage you to compose outlines prior to writing up the final entries to gauge the length of your project. You will submit ONE document on Blackboard via the Turnitin system at the end of the semester. The best format for submitting this is as a “Word” document, but Turnitin accepts many different formats. Be sure to save electronic files on your computer or flash drive. Detailed instructions for submitting these projects will be provided toward the end of the term and can be found on Blackboard under the “Portfolio” menu item. Responses should be double-spaced using 12-point font. You are encouraged to include photographs, drawings, poetry, or other creative elements for a more personalized project. Be sure to include a Table of Contents at the front and number all the pages . (A sample Table of Contents is provided at the end of these instructions.) For full credit be sure to follow all directions carefully. You can choose either of the following options: 1) Complete ALL (#1-5) Portfolio responses OR 2) Complete the Aztec Adventure write-up AND complete Response #5. In other words, you will be completing the Aztec Adventure write-up and only #5 of the Portfolio responses. Portfolios are due toward the end of the semester as listed on the course calendar. Late assignments will lose 20% of total points and will be accepted only up to 2 days (48 hours) after the deadline. Plan ahead and submit your materials on time to avoid needlessly losing points. Be sure to submit your full Portfolio (and not a previous draft) in order to receive full credit for the project. Attempting to submit additional material after the project deadline is not allowed. As also mentioned in the syllabus, be certain that you submit the project properly and retain the email receipt from Turnitin. For each section of the Portfolio or Aztec Adventure Project, type the heading (found above the questions), followed by your responses. Again, copy the heading that is found above each set of questions, to keep the paper organized and so I can follow your responses to each question. (The headings will be the same as those provided on the sample Table of Contents at the end of this document.) Students who put forth an earnest effort and answer the questions fully always do well. If you follow the directions and put forth an honest effort you have nothing to worry about. Students have vastly preferred these to more traditional “term” or “research” papers. The details for completing the Portfolio are presented first, followed by directions for the Aztec Adventure Project. At the very end of this document you will find the instructions for the extra credit book analysis and a sample Table of Contents.
