Journal Module 5Question 1: How much congruence do you think there is between your actual, ideal, and ought selves? How does this affect how you think, feel, and act?Answer: I believe that our actual, ideal, and ought selves go hand-in-hand with each other. This is due to the fact that the majority of people in today’s world care what others think of them. We are going to strive to be our best selves, and normally this has to do with living up the expectations and standards that others have put upon us. While not all people will feel this way, Ithink most will. Our actual, ideal, and ought selves might not be identical, but they are definitely what keeps us striving for greatness. We are going to take our actual selves and try to become ourideal selves based on our ought selves. So, this means, that we will take into consideration the ideas and expectations of others, and try to make ourselves into our ideal human being.
