CYBER THREAT Countermeasures to the cyber threat Phishing - a scam designed to trick someone into disclosing privileged information via email. Common ways to recognize Phishing Uses emails to contact the victims bad grammar / misspellings request for your login / password to personal bank account Directs you to a website that looks legitimate Don’t open any unknown emails Delete any specious emails, especially from unknown recipients Make sure you Anti-Virus software is up to date Report any suspicions of Phishing to the appropriate Look for digital signatures where possible

Common ways to recognize Trojans / Virus Sudden and unexplained poor performance in your computer Unexplained pop ups and websites when browsing the internet Common applications won’t start all of a sudden Incapable to explain how your Antivirus and Firewall became disabled Your computer is sending emails and instant messages on it own
