Benchmark - Gospel Essentials Andrew Van Donselaar Grand Canyon University: CWV-301 19 April 2018 Benchmark - Gospel Essentials A Christians worldview covers a wide array of things: moral beliefs, where the universe came from, what happens to the body and our soul after death, salvation, and God the father, God the Son (Jesus Christ), and God the Holy Spirit. Does God really exist? If God exists, where’s the proof? One of the biggest debates in today’s world is this very thing. This debate has many people on both sides of the argument. Over the next several paragraphs we will be going over the following issues: we will broaden our knowledge on a Christians worldview and look at, God, humanity, Jesus, restoration of society, analysis, and reflection. God The Bible states that Jesus was born a human and sacrificed himself on the cross for the sins of the world. With Jesus sacrificing himself for every living creature on the is earth this shows his love for every living thing. I know that God is merciful, loving, and trustworthy. These characteristics are very important to Christian. To be a Christian; it means that you must change on the inside as well on the outside. The presence of God in your life will change this and show others that you have changed as well. The scripture says, “For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved” (Romans 10:9-10). If Christ lives in you, you should want to have the same attributes as well. Since Jesus died on the cross for us, it only makes sense that we would want to try to have the same characteristics in us as well. God created the Heavens and the earth, the sea and land, space and all creatures, and human beings (Genesis 1). God created everything first and then decided that Adam and Eve, would be made in His own image. They were to take care of the Garden of Eden, but the devil came down to earth and tricked Eve into sinning. With Eve believing the devil this was where the fall of humanity took place, and sin is introduced into the world. Humanity Human’s are very good at being sinful; it is in our nature to do so. In a Christians worldview, we are created in God’s own image. Human beings are selfish by nature, but the decision is up to the person to put themselves first other people first.
