History The Body and the Universe October 6, 2008 Technology is now developing and being used by scientists o First microscopes and telescopes being invented o Thermometers are invented o Many other tools invented Artisans and craftsmen also helped to bring around technological innovations Discoveries in mathematics helped to ally science and mathematics in finding new technology o Adoption of Arabic numerals helped push along math o Invented in the 16 th and 17 th centuries o Algebra is revamped o John Napier (1550-1617) invented logarithms and invented a calculation machine to help o Calculus invented by Sir Isaac Newton (1642-1727) Magic and mysticism was very close to development in science Newton was very interested in this Invented Physics and discovered gravity Obsessive and driven mystic Writer on many tracts of biblical prophecy Came up with wild religious prophecies based on numbers of the bible o Galilieo, Kepler and Newton considered themselves natural magicians
