Devin Miertschin EDP 310 3-29-08 Time Management Notes When I manage my time well: When I manage my time well I am usually effective at planning my time so I can meet my personal and academic goals. I take responsibility for developing and using realistic schedules to accomplish the tasks I need to complete. I will generally schedule the time needed to participate in learning activities When I manage my time well I know about myself as a learner and use this knowledge when planning my schedules I’ am more likely to avoid the dangers of procrastination Good time managers, like me, often accomplish the most important tasks first and then work on less important tasks. When I manage my time well I use my goals to help me set priorities When I don’t manage my time well: The exact opposite as above! Time management mean - I create and use realistic schedules based on my own goals, I organize and monitor my use of time, I anticipate and deal with scheduling problems, and I also avoid procrastination. Time Management is the process of: 1. focusing both time and energy on my most important goals 2. maximizing the time I spend on my most important goals 3. minimizing the time I waste on activities that are not important to me 4. organizing my time to achieve my academic goals Why Understanding Time Management Is Important Managing my time well means knowing what my goals are and having a plan to achieve my goals is key. Time Management Is A Common Problem For College Students I blame poor time management and procrastination more often than any other reason for my academic difficulties. When I realize my use of time is under my control, I will be more likely to use strategies to help me manage my time more efficiently and effectively. This will give me more time for your studies and personal/social goals. Time Management Vs. Time Managing
