There are two versions of Postmodernsim. The high art and the popular kind Postmodernism has taken over as a tradtional, non-resalistic, and even musical as a normal thing. What is modernism? o It is the idea that multiple theatre styles are all valid, but for the modernist artist; they are going to pick one style and stick to it. They will stick that the conventions of the theatre style. What is postmodernism? o Artist don't look for unity in style. They look for a purposeful lack of stylisticunity in a production a choice for disunity. o The artist places diferent styles together and shows the differnet styles lack of unity. o Even if it's different, if it works, it works o Postmodern art is reflexive: it calls attention to the fact that it's being made and how it's made. Fight Club What is deconstructionism? o It says that meaning is never fully present beause of past, present and future contexts. Language is a trap to meaning
