UNIT 5 Structure List You will need to learn the structures identified in this hand out. You will need to be able to identify these structures. Your knowledge and understanding of these features will facilitate your learning in lecture. I will discuss these structures as they pertain to specific functions, but will not go over each structure in lecture. You will be tested over your ability to identify these structures. The reason for learning the features of the bones is that they are significant sites of articulation and muscle or ligament attachment. These structures correspond to those in Grine’s Regional Human Anatomy unless otherwise noted. Even if you are not in lab, you might find it useful to get a copy of the human anatomy coloring book or Grine’s if you don’t already have one. Your text book will cover most of these structures, the atlas that came with the text (if you got it) will also cover a number of these structures. Alternatively, I’m sure you can find illustrations online or can make your own. * Not discussed in Grine. Pelvic Girdle (Os coxae) Iliac crest Anterior superior iliac spine Ischial spine Sacrum Coccyx Acetabulum o Lunate surface Obturator foramen Pubic tubercle* Pubic symphysis

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
