Endocrine system pituitary gland thyroid gland adrenal glands 2 types of steroids: adrenal: adrenaline, is produced in the cortex of the adrenal gland. Adrenaline makes the pockets of your lungs and gets you pumped up. anabolic: increases testosterone. Which is important to the formation of tissues. Given to people after a major surgery of tissue tear to help them recover. Very bad side effects. Male: lose hair on head, liver probs, heart probs, testicles shrivel up because they aren’t needed to produce testosterone. Women: develop masculine cahracteristics, voice lowers, hip get narrower, develop facial hair, develop a small penis from the clitoris. Clitoris has lots of nerve endings. Clitoris gets stimulated by testosterone and grows into a penis and they usually get it cut off. Psych problems --> agression problems. Auditory stimuli: vibrating objects cause waves of pressure in the aire (i.e. changes in the com- pression of air molecules.) Loudness: due to amplitude (height of the sound waves) Pitch: due to the frequency of the sound waves Outer ear: function is canals sound waves to middle ear auricle auditory canal Middle Ear ear drum: membrane stretched over frame of the bone (typanic membrane) ossicles: (hammer, anvil, stirrup) auditory tube: (eustachian tube) don’t blow nose too hard because it forces bacteria up
