David James Ford John Butwell English 1020 20 March 2009 Milgrim Experiment Review Milgrim Experiment Printout and YouTube Video Stanley Milgrim was a Yale University Psychologist who ran a famous experiment that observed the social psychology of authority. These experiments were to measure the willingness to obey some sort of authority figure that requested them to do certain acts, even though the participants weren't in agreements consciously. He first began by bringing in a series of ___ who seemed to be normal everyday citizens and briefed them on what they were doing. According to the briefing, they were going to be testing the humans capability to learn and memorize words in a certain environment. There was a confederate who acted as the learner and the only real participant was the teacher. Milgrim had in one room what seemed to be and electro-shock machine that would hook up to the learner and in another room, a generator that produces the electro-shock controlled by the teacher. The
