Relativism – the belief that you can select values in relation to yourself – preference and needs a. Ex: do you believe in sex before marriage? Yes to one and no to others b. Laws related to one person/group that made it c. Ex: Exodus: god gave an objective law – doesn’t make difference with one’s needs apply to everyone. i. Ex: Garden of Eden – Do not eat the fruit (objective law) eat: can know the good and evil become a relativist (God made up laws based on his self interest) d.
