Mirza Klis Marketing Extra Credit FTD’s longevity and dominance in the flower delivery business is a key determinant of their continued success. However, one obstacle in an old, established firm such as FTD is their inability to change and adapt to the needs of new generations. The largest problem facing this firm is their necessity to become more accessible to customers via the Internet and telephone. Many customers prefer to purchase consumer goods online, and the time-consuming task of choosing flowers and arrangements can easily be facilitated by online services. The ability of other firms in this market to quickly adapt and offer flower delivery through the internet has put FTD at an enormous disadvantage.
