Ellee Lazarov Jewish Genetic Diseases 2/17/09 Crohns Disease Crohns disease causes inflammation in parts of ones intestines that absorb nutrients from food it can cause deficiencies in vitamin B12, folic acid, or other nutrients. The disease can increase the risk of gallstones , kidney stones , and certain uncommon forms of anemia. If I were to be diagnosed with Crohns disease, I would have to make major adjustments to my every day life. I would have to cut down on the amount of sugar and processed foods I eat, such as packaged sweets and snacks. This would be very hard for me because I absolutely love junk food. Crohn's disease can also cause complications outside the digestive tract , such as joint pain, eye problems, a skin rash, or liver disease, suggesting a possible immune system response. If I had severe crohns disease, I might have to be in the hospital a lot and that would severely affect my daily life. Another thing that is a side affect of a common medicine used to treat Crohns is weight gain and
