Treatment therapies Depending on the disorder, treatment can occur at many intersections: cognitive, behavioral, and biological Psychotherapy- emotionally charged, confiding interaction between a trained therapist and client suffering from psychological difficulties Eclectic Approach- psychotherapy that uses techniques from various forms of therapy Psychoanalytic Approach (freud)- o o Therapist’s interpretations of them o GOAL: release repressed feeling to allow client to gain self-insight Psychodynamic Therapy- understand client’s current condition today by exploring childhood experiences o Interpretation- analyst notes supposed dream meanings, resistances, and other significant behaviors in order to promote insight o Transference- patient transfers to the analyst emotions linked with other relationships (e.g love or hatred for a parent) o Time consuming, expensive o Decreased in recent years Humanistic Therapy-
