    Preliminary Round  (5 minutes) Your organizational design is currently X (whatever your  group decided earlier). Please come up with a brief  description of what business your company is in. This will  serve as the basis for all decisions in Rounds I and II. What industry are you in? What is your competitive strategy? What role do your employees play in your company’s ability  to implement its competitive strategy? Optional: If your culture plays an important part in your  strategy, you can add a statement about that.

    Round I – Part A  (2 minutes) Your company needs to re-think its  performance evaluation  and reward systems  in order to implement its strategy more  effectively. The role of performance evaluation and reward  systems is to foster aspects of employee performance that are  important to company goals, and discourage behaviors that are  detrimental to the company.  Decide what aspects of employee performance you need to  encourage, given your strategy, task, and current competitive  challenges.
