Compare and contrast the phenomenal prosperity of the post World War II era with the fear and anxiety of the era. There was much fear and anxiety during the World War II era. Much of it was a result of the First World War and the Great Depression. Global conflicts and economic disaster were fresh in the minds of the people of that time. Unprecedented death and damage was dealt by humans upon each other, the likes of which had only been imagined in fiction novels. Then there was the introduction of Atomic Warfare. This general scare of a calamity that could burst out at any moment lived side by side with tremendous optimism and prosperity of the time, especially in the United States. While Europe rebuilt itself, the United States shined the world over as a beacon of freedom and progress. Industrial advances in every field made the impossible seem plausible. Exciting discoveries in Atomic energy, rockets, even the internet had its beginning as a military program of communication, were all leaping forth. Thru all this
