and shear stresses. Calculate the principal stresses and
principle planes. Prove with Mohr’s circle method.

the principle stresses and the maximum shear stress
ii)
the orientation of the planes on which these stresses
occur, indicating your answer with a suitable sketch.

the normal and shear stress acting on plane AA.
Verify your results using Mohr’s stress circle.
