She has been frustrated because the pain causes her to drop her hair-styling tools.Review of Case Study 2Patient Initials: KL Age: 47 Gender: FemaleSUBJECTIVE DATA:Chief Complaint (CC):Pain in right wrist with numbness and tingling in right thumb, index andmiddle finger.History of Present Illness (HPI):47 years old African-American complaining of pain in her right wrist along with numbness and tingling in right thumb, index and middle finger for the past two weeks. Pain affecting her daily living causing her to drop her hair styling tool.To obtain accurate patient history serious of questions will be asked such as:What were you doing before the pain start?Have you been doing any strenuous activity lately?What makes the pain better or worse?Do you the pain radiate anywhere else in the body?Have you injured yourself-falls, accidents, or hit by anyone?Is anyone hurting you or do you feel safe?Medications: noneAllergies: Do you have any allergy to any medication or food?Past Medical History (PMH): Will inquire about past medical history such as diagnoses of Arthritis, Car accidents, cardiac history, neurological history or other muscular history.Past Surgical History (PSH): noneSexual/Reproductive History: Do you have any children?Personal/Social History: Do you smoke or drink any alcohol? Immunization History: Are you up to date with all your vaccines?
Significant Family History: Ask the patient about family history of rheumatoid arthritis, or gouty arthritis because these conditions can affect the joints of the hands with common symptom of pain.
