Guided Analysis: Truth and Morality Worksheet Name: Course: CWV-301 Date: 25 April 2018 Instructor: Prof. Thomas Joseph In this guided analysis, you will interact with issues concerning truth and morality. Address the following questions, responding directly below each question with the appropriate specified number of words. Part I – Truth Psalm 19:1-2 states, “The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork. Day to day pours out speech and night to night reveals knowledge” (ESV). As one may learn something about Vincent van Gogh by looking at his Starry Night painting, is it possible to look at the beauty of our natural world and learn something about God (commonly called general revelation)? Is this sufficient knowledge about God? Explain why or why not. (300-500 words) The world we live in has a natural beauty that I feel show’s and produces God’s presence everywhere. God created the earth and all its beauty. In doing this, it surrounds us every day. We can’t see God in a like I see my wife, but I can see his beauty in everything around me including my wife. We need to see God in all these different ways. Our lives change day to day, and day to day we need to see God. We can do just that in noticing the beauty all around us. Beauty is always in the eye of the beholder. I may look at a Red Cedar tree and see all the possibilities for making wood furniture. My wife could look at a field of Lilac flowers and see beauty in the flowers. Both of us will come to the same conclusion God designed all this beauty for us. We can see him in his work every day. Just as if we look at Van Gogh’s painting a Starry Night. When we notice all these beautiful things, we learn a thing about God. It is helping us in times. People will always have a question and will question God’s existence. Bad things happen to good people, and we want to know why. If we look into Job’s life, what will we find? A man that was loved by and loved God. He was doing everything right. Then the devil pops his head into the picture and destroys everything in his life. Did he deserve this? NO! God allowed it to happen and what did it do? It brought Job closer to God.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
