Organisational consequences Quality of employment Following the legislation in the Netherlands, Van Raam is obliged to continue paying the employee for the first year of sickness. These sickness costs are directly paid by the company, this is to make sure the employees at Van Raam do not experience any physical or psychological harm as a result of it. The following aspects are also considered to ensure good quality of employment at Van Raam: - Sufficient opportunities for contact: Employees at Van Raam should be allowed and encouraged to keep contact between colleagues amongst themselves and with the management board. All the machines will be set up near each other so that the employees do not feel that they are being isolated and also to get the help that they need from people around. - Sufficient autonomy: Employees are allowed to have a break during their work to make them feel more comfortable while performing the work. They are freely to plan how they work as long as they can meet the deadline of the work as well as the quality standards - Due to the fact that emc is 1:1 that makes the cycle time of the employee rather short. This will affect the quality of employment - The difficulty of work for the employee: At Van Raam, the employees work at Wheel Assembly, Pre-Assembly and Final assembly has sufficient difficulty of work which requires intensive knowledge to carry out the task.
