o  CV: this could just milk  get
some gauze  rub area. If it
comes off  milk.
 NB: AIDS  can get other mouth
infections that look like oral thrust as
well. i.e. EBV  oral hairy leukoplakia

o Vulvovaginitis: whome who have taken
antibiotics  Canida alib infe  candida will
maintain in an acidic env in the area  pt’s will
request antifungual medictaoin everyt time
they take an antibiotics.

o
 See jagged edge lesion and you see some
satellite infection (lesion outside major
central area of lesion)
 You could have an irritant dermatitis

 Could have rash under the breast and skin
folds  obese pt  candida intertrigo .


 What other bacteria is a/w with IV drug
users and endocarditis?





o AIDS pt  with meningitis  C. neomorphans 
 Soap bubble lesion in the brain

o “M”  “M” upside down to make “W”  wide
 for broad
 Start as sinus infection  with the mucor
 lead to frontal lobe abscess.


 Immunocompromised  pt  die
within 24 hours. 

o Causes?

 Interstitial pneumonia
 MC cause of Interstitial pneumonia?
o Walk pneumonia 
mycoplasma!!!
o
 Pulmonary infection  CT scan  bilateral
confluent air-space opacities in a central
distribution “ground glass appearance”.
o Treatment:
 Can use dapsone if allergic to TMP-SMX.


o Sphaghetti and meatball?
 Tinea versicolor
o Athletes foot? Tinea pedis
o Jock itch  tinea cruris.
