Tuan Phan Psychology A100 Reaction paper 1 I had been chased by a shadow and then I knew immediately I was trapped in my dream. I climbed over a balcony to jump down attempting to escape my dream. However, it did not work. I was brought back to the dream. I jumped again and finally woke up sweating and heavy breathing. It was my dream a while ago. “Dreaming” is always an interesting topic to me. Therefore, I would like to talk about “Why do we dream? And what does dreaming mean?” According to the article 7 Theories on Why We Dream , “dreaming” is the series of the images, thoughts, and emotions that are experienced during sleep. “Dreaming” can be extraordinarily vivid or very vague; filled with joyful emotions or frightening imagery; focused and understandable or unclear and confusing. The author Cherry discusses that there are many theories about why we dream, but no one knows for sure. Some researchers say dreams have no purpose or meaning and are nonsensical activities of the sleeping brain. Others say dreams are
