Classroom Observation 2Classroom Observation and Teacher InterviewObserving a classroom consists of watching and listening to the daily interactions between the teacher and the students, the arrangement of the classroom, and the atmosphere of the classroom. Conducting a teacher interview consists of understanding a teacher’s perspective and teaching philosophy. When a classroom is observed it allows a person who may be interestedin teaching to get ideas of how he or she may or want to do in his or her classroom. People are also able to observe different teaching practices and learn from the teacher and the students in theclassroom.I observed Dr. Karen Harris’ fourth grade classroom. Dr. Harris’s interaction with her students is very engaging. She is a very hands-on teacher with her students and makes herself accessible to her students.
