Classroom Observation 2 Classroom Observation and Teacher Interview Observing a classroom consists of watching and listening to the daily interactions between the teacher and the students, the arrangement of the classroom, and the atmosphere of the classroom. Conducting a teacher interview consists of understanding a teacher’s perspective and teaching philosophy. When a classroom is observed it allows a person who may be interested in teaching to get ideas of how he or she may or want to do in his or her classroom. People are also able to observe different teaching practices and learn from the teacher and the students in the classroom. I observed Dr. Karen Harris’ fourth grade classroom. Dr. Harris’s interaction with her students is very engaging. She is a very hands-on teacher with her students and makes herself accessible to her students. Whenever Dr. Harris goes over a lesson, she explains the lesson thoroughly and she makes sure to ask all the appropriate questions. With her asking appropriate
