Octotoon Report the smallest & the deepest octopus in the ocean The Octotoon The Octotoon is one of the deepest octopuses known. Its a marine animal that is closely related to the Grimpoteuthis, otherwise known as The Dumbo Octopus. The Octotoon is found at around 13,000 feet, making the bottom of the Bathypelagic Zone their home. Living on the bottom of the ocean floor means these cool octopuses love the extreme cold, and are adjusted to the extreme pressures in their environment. Generally, Octotoons live alone and hide between crevices and in rocks, but will come out of hiding when in search of food, or if its time to reproduce. These cool guys get their name from the funny ear-like fins they’ve grown, these fins are an adaption that allows them to be better swimmers, and much like a duck, the Octotoon have webbed arms, allowing it to push through the water at greater speeds. These two adaptions help it swim fast away from predators, because its much smaller than its “cousin” the Dumbo

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
