In the article “Tossing Tea & Stealing Dishes,” Dr. Keith Cox makes an argument that
many Americans have been lied to about history in order to attract them to a particular “side.”
Cox claims many have been given false assumptions of history as way to convince them of
something, therefor America has lost touch with the basic historical facts and does not
understand the methods of investigating history. I would say his thesis is, “If you don’t know
history anyone can lie to you about it, and you won’t know any better. And if you don't know how
to determine if something is true, you can be fooled.” He defends his argument by exploring an
example of a common misunderstanding about the foundations of the United States, where
many people are to believe it is a nation in reflection of Judeo Christian Values, but that isn't
