Abstract Aso oke is the must poplar traditional wear in yoruba culture which tells a lot of meaning and also differentiate ones from another culture. Aso oke has different kind of meaning and it tells what is going on at that particular time, aso oke is mostly wore during ceremony. This aso oke is one of the favorite’s cloth we yoruba females love to wear because it shows who we really are and what our culture means. aso oke is wear during ceremonies, and parties especially during ceremony of the new king, weddings, funerals ceremony and family reunion. This cloth has been so helpful to the youth because it provides employment opportunity for them due to the lack of unemployment in the country. Aso oke is worn by the new king in Yoruba land for the ceremony of his kingship and also by his wife (the new queen). On the ceremony day, Aso oke is worn by the king and the queen with akun and irukere to match the aso oke and also show his power and ability. Aso oke is the first cloth that the king and the queen must wear on their first day of being the leader of Yoruba land. Outline

The people of Oke Ogun in Oyo state produce the cloth Aso Ofi which is another name for aso oke, and send it to Lagos for mostly commercial purposes and which earned it the name “Aso awon ati odo ara Oke” (cloth of the people from the hinterland).
