THE DEATH OFA SALESMAN2The “Death of a Salesman” is film by Arthur Miller that is based on the life a successful salesman who works hard to achieve the reality of living the American dream. However, the main character of the film, Willy Loman struggles to make ends meet after being demoted from a salesman to a sales agent that depends on a salary obtained from the commission of the sales he has generated. As such, it can be revealed that achieving the American dream was not easy since Loman ends up killing himself in effort to realize the dream. To achieve the theme of the American dream, Miller has used devices such as dialogue, irony, and tragedy as some of the main literary devices that have helped to develop the theme and plot of the film.
