CISP211 Week 1 HW 2 Question #2 You have decided to buy a new color printer for your home office, but are unsure whether an ink-jet or laser printer would be best for you. Use two Web sites such as HPshopping.com, Office Depot, Best Buy, OfficeMax, or Staples to gather information. Write a short critique of how each of the two sites provided or failed to provide information useful to you in your search. Answer: When navigating the Best Buy website to find some information on printers it was easy to arrive at the printers section of their website. It was simple for me to locate somewhat of a buying guide. On the front page for printers at the bottom of the page there was a section titled “Printer, Ink & Toner Options” (Bestbuy.com, 2016). This section provided 4 paragraphs of information on printer types and how to choose based on your needs. It was clear that inkjet printers were more versatile and provide more of a do it all approach while laser printers were better at producing higher volume at a faster speed and a cheaper price per page in the long run. Office Depot/Office Max’s website on the other hand was even easier to locate a buying guide. It was right there at the top. The buying guide provided much more detail and was interactive. You can click your specific needs and it actually navigated you to a page with specific models. It provided
