2 THE EISENHOWER DOCTRINE The Eisenhower Doctrine The Eisenhower Doctrine was introduced on January 5th, 1975 during the Cold war period immediately after the second world war II. The foreign policy established by President Dwight promised both military and economic aid to the Middle Eastern countries that were in resistance to the communist aggression. The doctrine aimed to reduce the increased Soviet influence that has resulted in an increase of firearms in the Middle East particularly in Egypt (Fowler, 2016) . With the approval of the Congress Eisenhower claimed that he would use the military to protect the independence of any Middle East country that required American help. Despite the fact that he would use a different approach, The Eisenhower Doctrine did not have any radical changes from the U.S policy. It was almost similar to the Truman Doctrine, which
