The trend, the various forms, cookbooks, constant sells, frozen or freshly baked. Pizza has grabbed the eye of many since its creation. A gift of god. Even served as an offering to him. I could understand why as the circular entity is divine and leaves a wonderful taste in the mouths of many. As Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Michelangelo said, It is a delicacy that bridges all men, turtle, and bat.” A “go to” for a variety of parties. Because who's gonna order chicken over pizza? Not me. You see, Pizza is good for a variety of reasons. It comes in many sizes, a variety of toppings, it can be served to many, unless one is lactose intolerant, then sorry buddy. It can please vegetarians and vegans. Now one can say burgers can be the same. Which is true. But we are talking about pizza so go write your own article or research about burgers. The many forms of crust, from thick to thin, crunchy to soft. That aroma of the ingredients on the crust when cooking. That sizzling look when coming out of the oven. The cheese having a glossed look. That perfect cheese that stretches when pulled away. The amount of sauce one wants. The different types of sauce and how each individual pizza baker applies it. A pick your poison scenario, since pizza isnt “healthy”, but it's still amazing, right? Pizza to me is what a scooby

Xavier 3 snack is to Scooby Doo. Many people eat pizza on the daily. According to Statistic Brain 350 pizza slices are eaten each second. Thats 21,000 in 1 minute. 93 percent of americans at least eat one slice each month and 46 slices being the average for one to eat within a year. The there's me who can eat half of that in a week. The statistics also showed that 5 billion are sold worldwide each year, 3 billion of that comes from the U.S. Now think about that. That's what is sold and that doesn't record how many pizzas are eaten at buffets like Cici's Pizza, Pizza Hut, Golden Corral, Incredible Pizza, etc. It also doesn't include party favorites like Totinos pizza rolls and Hot Pockets and other various forms of pizza. Do you ever wonder what life would be like without pizza? I don’t, cause that’s just a nightmare. So when and where did it originate? Let's take a look back. Pizza goes way back to ancient Greece and Rome where they were made as just flat bread with oil and herbs. It also dates back to the time of Pompeii 79 A.D. Food Historian Giuseppe Nocca discovered latin church records from the Dark Ages written in AD 997 in Gaeta. These records stated as a payment for the utilization of the land twelve pizzas had to be served to the local bishop on Christmas and Easter day. This also serves as the origin of the word pizza.
